Vote Poster
For the 2018 midterm elections. 11x17 poster.
This was a particularly engaging project for me in terms of determining a direction to take the design. I ultimately sought to target nonvoters who are desensitized to conventional themes in voting awareness campaigns (voting as patriotic, empowering, or even cool) and confront that fact that despite all this, they still aren’t voting. So, don't vote—ACTUALLY vote.
A fun part of this project was creating the “Vote” poster for the background. My professor at the time would tell us that if we wanted an analogue effect in our designs, we should do the “real thing” instead of mimicking it on a computer. I put this method to work; the poster was constructed in InDesign, printed out, pinned up on the wall, photographed, and finally cleaned up in Photoshop.
